Opera theater of Connecticut returns to the Sanibel music festival where we gave our first series of performances over 30 years ago.
This year’s concert focuses on the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber is arguably the most successful composer of our time. He is best known for stage and film adaptations of his musicals Jesus Christ Superstar (1973), Cats (1994), Evita (1996), and The Phantom of the Opera (2004). Along the way he has collected a variety of honors, including knighthood, seven Tony Awards, three Grammy Awards, an Oscar and Kennedy Center recognition.
Celebrate Webber’s amazing and brilliant career with Opera Theater of Connecticut and a group of first-rate professional singers through an exciting selection of moving pieces from his acclaimed shows.
The concert will be punctuated with appropriate, humorous, and informative narrations from the stage by OTC’s Artistic Director Alan Mann, a noted speaker and opera/music theater historian.
